Voksenåsen Hotell - Oslo

Voksenåsen Hotel is Norway’s national gift to Sweden – given as a token of appreciation for the help Sweden and her people offered Norway during the Second World War and the post-war era.

These days our main focus is on courses and conferences.  All of our 85 rooms, as well as our restaurant and saloons, offer spectacular views of the city.  In the Dag Hammarskjöld pavilion, one is more or less sat outdoors.

Both the Nils Holgersson restaurant and the Dag Hammarskjöld hall are ideal venues for arranging small as well as large functions.  Contact our events department on 0047 22 81 15 43 for a tour of our unique premises.

Our location, 20 minutes from Oslo city centre and 501 metres above sea level, combined with the close proximity to the woods of Oslomarka as well as Tryvann ski centre, makes us the ultimate hotel for anyone wanting more than just another city break.  For anyone desiring a culinary challenge, there is the Janssons MatTeater cookery school and the associated Arkadien wine cellar.

We have 11 conference halls and 11 meeting rooms.  The largest of these, the Einar Gerhardsen Hall, can accommodate up to 160 people in a cinema style set-up.  This hall is our pride and joy and has its very own stage with a grand piano.  Our VIP room, the Wasa suite, has its own saloon and patio as well as what is undoubtedly the best views in town.

Our Department of Culture is responsible for organises our cultural events.  Please see separate programme.

In the Voksenåsen Gallery we have hosted exhibitions of well-known artists, such as Håkon Bleken, Ørnulf Opdahl, Dan Young, Frans Widerberg and Thomas Widerberg.

We also have a permanent art exhibition where you can find the works of great Swedish and Norwegian contemporary artists.

In the Selma Lagerlöf library you will find topical Swedish and Norwegian literature.
